I like that they are trying to prevent cars from driving down the path there. Last winter people were driving down the the fishing dock and across the lawns to the basketball court. Of course they should paint the chain bright yellow and they could just out some pvc pipes on they chain so people can see it.

I like it too that they prevent cars from driving down the path. Some reflective tape on pvc pipes would be a big improvement. But the current solution is not a good one. If you ride through there with your bike without noticing it you would be ejected without warning. Never thought it would happen to me, but the exact same thing happened to me a few years ago. Spent a fun and expensive night at the Urgent Care and the ER. A runner or walker during low light conditions is also at high risk of not noticing the chain. One usually doesn't expect an obstacle across the entire trail. It's like somebody would put a chain across your neighborhood street. I guarantee you that people would run into it with their cars, not because they didn't pay attention, but because they don't expect the chain to be there.

Maybe I'll just take some cloth and tie some flags on the chain, then maybe the parks dept. will get the idea and do something.

The parks dept. has put a pvc pipe with warning tape on the chain and is now very visible. Problem fixed Thank you!
