  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
A chain has been placed across the entrance of the river trail at this location. There are no warning signs or reflective material that notify trail users about this obstacle.
I have been injured by one of these chains, and I really don't want anybody else to be hurt by this. There are smarter ways to prevent vehicular access to the River Trail - ones that are not prone to injure trail users.
  • 16800 Wood Road Lansing, Michigan - US Congressional District MI8
Granger is doing an awesome job of keeping Wood Rd/St clean by running its street sweeper multiple times a week. Unfortunately, this has completely removed the lane marking.
  • 2948 Kalamazoo Street Lansing, Michigan - Ingham County
On Eastbound Kalamazoo St, the bike lane is unusable due to a lot of glass pieces on the ground. There is also an abandoned shopping card on the sidewalk just next to it.
  • West Shaw Lane East Lansing, Michigan - Michigan State University
This seems to be quite common practice since I have seen this multiple times already. Several buses are parked on Shaw Ln between the fire station and Chestnut Rd. They are parked in a no-parking/tow away zone and in the bike lane. A chat with the bus drivers revealed that the university told them to park here so that they can "serve their customers". So, I guess this implies that all customers of MSU can violate traffic laws now.
  • 3909-3929 Forest Road East Lansing, Michigan - Michigan State University
A lot of debris on the shoulder here. Forest has been swept after the winter - but the dirt/debris was just pushed to the shoulder, not removed.
The road is also in miserable condition here which is probably the origin of all the debris and chunks of concrete on the shoulder.
  • 2800-3198 Ruth Ave Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Two old televisions have been dumped ON the road here. The only reason that nobody ran into them yet is because it is a quiet residential area back street.
There is also a pile of some sort of construction trash a few yards off the road right next to the TVs.
  • 2722 Forest Rd Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Very frequently, there are cars parked over night in the bike lane east bound on Aurelius.
  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
When coming from Potter park zoo heading towards MSU, just after coming down the bridge over the Red Cedar river, the south side of the trail poses great risk for trail users. The flooding flushed away the ground next to the tail and the trail is following the trend. Two large pieces of the trail have already been washed away. Furthermore there is a deep drop at the side of the trail. Any cyclists coming down the bridge, having slightly higher speed than usual will crash hard if they hit any of the above. Since this is a trail for the whole family it has the potential to be very dangerous for kids on their bikes too.
  • 1240 South Harrison Road East Lansing, Michigan - East Lansing
On the south west corner of the Trowbridge and Harrison intersection there is a cover of a hole missing. I don't know what its purpose is (water access/regulation?), but it is pretty deep and dangerous for pedestrians or cyclists.
  • 700 Abbot Road East Lansing, Michigan - East Lansing
The lane marking of the bike lane is completely gone on North bound Abbot Rd. Please fix this!
  • 3675-3699 Forest Rd Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
Two big nasty pot holes can be found in the left turning lane on east bound forest road. See pictures attached.
  • 404 W Grand River Ave East Lansing, Michigan - East Lansing
There are several broken glass bottles and random other debris in the west bound bike lane on Grand river between Hillcrest ave and Harrison.
  • Sinkhole Archived
1500-1510 W Grand River Ave East Lansing, Michigan - East Lansing
    Please fix/fill up the sinkhole!
  • Trowbridge Road East Lansing, Michigan - Michigan State University
Are the bicycle lanes going to be plowed at some point? It hasn't snowed significantly during the past 24hours and the bike lanes are still packed with ice and snow. I would ride in the bike lane if it was just fresh snow. But all the clumps of ice and packed snow that have been thrown onto the bike lanes make them unusable. Side walks are clear. But I'm not allowed to use them per MSU ordinance. That puts me in the car lane. Please plow the streets (the whole street) properly.
  • 1300-1320 West Grand River Avenue East Lansing, Michigan - East Lansing
Tree and bush branches are hanging way too far into the bike lane. The owner of this house/property should be contacted and reminded to cut back his plants. Bikes have to get out of the bike lane and merge into the regular traffic lane to avoid collision with the branches.
  • 360 Forest Road Lansing, Michigan - Michigan State University
On Forest Rd, especially between the intersection with Harrison Rd and Collins Rd, there are several soccer ball sized potholes. There are also many canyons parallel and perpendicular to the road.
    Update:
The road's condition is getting worse and worse. The current winter will leave a disastrous crater field behind. This needs to be fixed ASAP. The pictures and the video are from Summer 2013. The current conditions is way worse.
