Thank you for acting on my earlier post regarding goatheads encroaching on the bike trail, but the problem has only been addressed on a portion of the Paseo de las Montanas Trail. The section from Nakomis Dr. NE (west of Lynnwood Park) to Morris St NE is still infested with goatheads, except for the section through Ross Enchanted Park and the Martha St/Gretta St/Snow Heights detour. Also, there are huge goathead plants on a short stretch just West of where the trail intersects Eubank. I appreciate that city crews are very busy with weed complaints after the recent rains, and I'm thankful for the bike trails which offer cyclists safe passage through Albuquerque. However, the goatheads are more than a nuisance; once they dry out and get scattered they make the trails unusable.

This issue was acknowledged 19 days ago but nothing has been done to address it. The goatheads remain on the trail between Martha and Nakomis. Thank you.

You can add the abundant crop of them along the Embudo arroyo between Morris NE and Martha NE too.

About 3-4 weeks ago, ABQ City crews use weed trimmer(s) to cut prolific goat heads on west side of Juan Tabo, across Eisenhower pool, and left ALL debris on sidewalk. This was done for almost 5 blocks as JT curves to the west. Winds have blown dry piles of plant stems and seeds on sidewalk and into cracks on sidewalk. Debris was never cleaned up. I commute (bicycle) on this section of road and I've already had to replace one older front tire and "puncture resistant tube" which had green slime, due to the high number of thorns. I've seen many citizens stooped down as they remove goat heads from their dog's paws. Crews seemed to spend plenty of time sweeping sand off sidewalk on east side of JT, south of Eisenhower, where there were no goat heads. Just did not make any sense, since the more serious problem was and is one the west side.
