RETURN OF THE KILLER GOATHEADS! Please return to the Paseo de las Montanas (Nakomis to Winrock) to address goatheads taking over the traill! please don't just spray w/Roundup, as the tire-puncturing, paw-poking seed heads remain on the trail. please remove the plants from the pavement, the near shoulders, and sweep the seeds from the trail. the goatheads are driving me and my bike off the trail and onto the road!

Thank you for acting on my earlier post regarding goatheads encroaching on the bike trail, but the problem has only been addressed on a portion of the Paseo de las Montanas Trail. The section from Nakomis Dr. NE (west of Lynnwood Park) to Morris St NE is still infested with goatheads, except for the section through Ross Enchanted Park and the Martha St/Gretta St/Snow Heights detour. Also, there are huge goathead plants on a short stretch just West of where the trail intersects Eubank. I appreciate that city crews are very busy with weed complaints after the recent rains, and I'm thankful for the bike trails which offer cyclists safe passage through Albuquerque. However, the goatheads are more than a nuisance; once they dry out and get scattered they make the trails unusable.
Thank you.
