On Tuesday 4/21 a package was opened, and the contents stolen off of the porch of 30 Academy. This happened between 10:37 am, and 11:30 am. The thief left the cardboard box and bubble wrap, but stole the highly specific medical training device . Again, on Tuesday 4/28 a package was opened, but the contents left. The incidents were reported to the police, but it seems that increased neighborhood awareness and additional walking beats in the daytime around the square would be helpful.

This has been going on for well over a year now. We have traced the culprits following delivery vehicles and then quite brazenly moving on to porches and stealing. We (at 126 Bishop) have a notice saying deliver to back door but only US mail honors this.Fed Ex & USPS both ignore it. What to do? Police take no notice -- one cop told me "Yeah It's bad" --said with a complacent shrug.
So this is what we pay high city taxes for?
So we live in a Fascist state? Is that it?

Do you know what the word 'fascist' means? No, we don't live in a fascist state. But we seem to live in one where we don't care about each other... that's been the big flaw in these United States.. it's very self-serving.. the land of the 'free' without responsibility for each other.
What I did about FedEx and UPS was to insist that they not leave packages anywhere, but that someone had to sign for any package, or deliver to an alternative address.
How have you 'traced the culprits'?
Our police department is known to be very lax, and Toni Harp loves it.
