Reporting Issues Anonymously

Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. Sometimes you need to get your neighbors talking about a problem, but you need to broach the topic carefully.

We hear you.

When you report an issue to SeeClickFix, you can check "Keep this anonymous," and we'll make sure it can't be traced to you: we won't put your name on the issue, or list it on your profile page. (Of course, don't write anything in the issue that could give away your identity.) As usual, we'll keep you informed when someone comments on the issue, and when it's acknowledged or fixed.

Why do we do this? We believe that, to fix our neighborhood's problems, we all need to be open and accountable - but we know not every situation is the same. We'll give you the tools, and let you decide how to handle each situation. Do us proud.

At the moment, you also have the option to report an issue without being logged in, and we'll ask for a name and email address before posting it. If you use a fake name and email address, you can be pretty anonymous, and lots of issues are reported this way. But we think there's a better way to be anonymous than claiming to be someone else. We think it's better if everyone is clear about who they are, even if it means being clearly anonymous.

In certain cases your email may be shared with an agency from which you are requesting service. See our Terms of Use for more information.
