With the first wonderful weekend of spring comes lots of park goers, especially to the playground. Unfortunately, this also brings a lot of trash. The parks crew does it's best to keep up, but it would be great to give this park lots more attention. Can more garbage bins also be added? By the end of the weekend, the current ones are overflowing w/ trash, which then blows around the park (making it worse) and into the yards of those of us who live across the street. Maybe some extra monitoring as police drive by will help (especially at night, when people go there to drink and smoke). LOTS of little kids live right across the street from here.

Thanks so much, Becky! I truly appreciate the staff's hard work, particularly w/ limited capacity. I wish there were more we can do to get people not to litter - a big part of the problem. I do think more (and better - better enclosed at top?) trash cans *might* help - but another big expense, I imagine.
Lastly, I'd be very glad to organize a park clean up with a little direction from the Parks Dept. Neighbors can contribute to the solution! Let me know!
