This is not a vacant lot; It is a vacant property. Vacant properties are a DCRA issue. The DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) has exclusive authority to classify vacant buildings as granted through the "Nuisance Properties Abatement Reform and Real Property Classification Amendment Act of 2008. Please call DCRA @ 202 442-9557, hit option #6 when the automated system comes on to speak with a live person or email complaints to dcra.housingcomplaints@dc.gov. Residents can also send Tweets to @dcra - include photos if you'd like and get an inspector to come out and inspect. DCRA has the authority to deem a property vacant, board up homes, and issue citations for high grass on private property.
