On Washington St. & 2nd the sidewalk is taped off ( in front of Chilies Restaurnt) saying the street is closed leaving pedestrians a dangerous crossing in the middle of the block across the 4 lanes of Washington St.

A new dangerous intersection has developed at Second St and Washington Blvd. I emailed Ward E councilwoman about this 10/14/2013 morning.
Marbella II has placed barriers and cones and fences galore, but they seem very poorly arranged and stubborn pedestrians are walking in street (Washington Blvd) along side busy, fast moving traffic.
The sidewalk and right turn lane have been cut-off, but this is a heavily used pedestrian sidewalk (restaurants and shopping centers, tourists, Newport Mall). People will not cross Washington Blvd to safely travel north, nor will they know that the sidewalk is closed off when walking south, but will instead risk their lives and others to dash 100 feet in the middle of traffic.
A secure separate passageway should be created for pedestrians along side the construction site.
