Description

The pedestrian crosswalk signal at the intersection of Prospect and Munson is constantly beeping as if signaling someone that they must cross immediately but there is NOBODY crossing and it is constantly beeping all day and all night long. It is annoying for those with windows open living or working in the area.

Are there different beeps for when it's time to cross? Newer crossing signals have one beep for "wait" and another beep for "cross" for visually impaired folks.

No, the beeping sound is constant regardless of if someone has pressed the button and is waiting to cross, or nobody is there at all. When someone does press the button a robotic voice tells them when to cross. But the beeping remains.

Ah!
That's a normal crosswalk but the visually impaired. Sorry it's annoying. (But it's not broken.)

It is *intolerable*--not annoying. I don't understand what the point of the constant noise could be. Anyone with typical hearing, let alone the often heightened hearing of the visually impaired, suffers having to listen to this 24/7.

I have been gone for a week and now that I am back, I can no longer hear the beeping from where I am. But the beeping is audible at the crosswalk. Thanks to those that have addressed the issue.
