  • 163 Middletown Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Quinnipiac
Left onto Middletown is too short and much shorter than other lights. About two cars can get through, three if you run the red, and this causes a backup in the left turn lane.
  • 255 Front Street New Haven, Connecticut - Chatham Square
Tree on the water side of the street needs pruning. It hangs low over the sidewalk.

  • 299 Chapel Street New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven
According to the calendar, this section of Chapel was to be swept during the first week. It didn't happen as the glass that was there before is still there. This wide road is a commuter route and cyclists deeply appreciate swept streets so we don't have to veer into traffic to avoid debris. Safe roads! Thank you!
  • 309-343 Clinton Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven
There's a new, wide (a few feet), and decently deep pothole in the bike lane under 91.
  • 428 Humphrey Street New Haven, Connecticut - Bishop-Hine

The new bike lanes on Humphrey put the cyclists squarely in the door zone of the parked cars there. It is not safe to ride in the door zone. Now, car traffic will expect the bikes to be in the bike lane, but it is not a safe place to ride.

The "sharrows" were far better for road safety.

  • 22-42 Humphrey Street New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven
There is much glass and debris on Humphrey/Lombard heading into Fair Haven. This is problematic for cars and especially for the many bike commuters using this route. Does it get swept regularly?
  • 187-199 Humphrey Street New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven
Even during the day, it is incredibly dark under the underpass. This is an issue mainly for pedestrians and their safety. We need lights here 24/7.
  • Orange St. New Haven, CT - Bishop-Hine

There remains snow and ice in the bike lanes on Orange St. This forces cyclists out into the lane if they want to remain upright. Or, if they slip they may slip into oncoming traffic, leading to injury or fatality. The lanes need clearing.

By the way, these bike lanes are already unsafe, with the risk of dooring from parked cars. Sharrows would be better.

I imagine this is all over the city, though I just saw it on Orange St. The cyclist in the bike lane was struggling to make it through safely during rush hour traffic.

  • Orange At English Dr. New Haven, CT - East Rock
This morning, within the span of 60 seconds, I saw two really near-misses caused by the same issue. The car(s) coming from Orange assumed the car(s) coming from English had a stop sign. Orange car(s) and pulled out right in front of the English car(s). I can't believe the car(s) coming from English didn't hit the Orange car(s). Could there be a warning sign to the Orange St. traffic letting drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians know that traffic from the right does not stop? Or better yet, perhaps a stop sign, as the traffic on that road is already too fast?

25 Hillhouse Ave New Haven, CT 06511 - Yale University Campus
There is an unbelievable amount of potholes at this intersection. The street looks torn up with potholes.
