When is the city going to do something about this??? This is ridiculous.

Doug Hausladen, what can you do about this? Can you ask the NHI to do a story? WTNH? The Register? This is outrageous. It wasn't even 4:00! This has been going on for too long.

just spoke with the district manager for john's - he apologized for the error in the pick up schedule and is talking to the driver immediately.

the question i have for public works is - what department enforces the trash hauling ordinance? dpw? nhpd? and can the department use video from constituents for enforcement purposes? or would it only be advisory?

also - wfsb will be doing a story today.

Thanks for talking with the DM, Doug. However - its worth noting that over the last 6 years this has been a recurring problem. Someone talks with them, they stop for a little while, and then they do it all over again.

Understandable; in working with John's yesterday, I talked to him about SCF.com and offered to set up a watch area for him on the city of new haven to catch any John's Refuse related issues. He was interested and I'll be signing him up this weekend. Hopefully that helps from a customer service standpoint in a more lasting way.

We are closing older Trash and Recycling issues in order to focus on current ones. Many of the issues reported were resolved by our routine Trash and Recycling Services. Some of the older Trash and Recycling issues were ordinance violations which were responded to by warnings and tickets. If your particular Trash and Recycling issue was not resolved, please open up a new 2019 issue. Thanks.
