Description
Entire stretch of Union Street between Water and Fair is unwalkable on one side. Trash and overgrown vegetation and a sprawling homeless camp complete with makeshift toilet...all across from a school. Opposite the proposed Vision Trail. A complete mess.

thanks! i've been trying to contact the CT DOT about the area to get permissions. Folks from the Friends of Wooster Square group are trying to get some energy around this stretch of union. feel free to email me and I'll connect you to the group trying to make the walking area better - all part of a 5 year plan from the downtown-wooster square community management team to improve the walk to the train station

Thanks Alder Doug!
FairHavenRes, this amount of trash could easily fill a pickup truck. It also DEFINITELY has human waste in it, so I would be careful about that. I would gladly go after the weeds and stuff, but the trash is probably best handled by the city.
Guest, if you're still there, can you confirm that claim somehow, and back it up? That would go a long way towards getting someone from the city to help with the clean-up. If they put the barriers there, that mess is their fault.
