There are 3 lanes going Northbound on 17th st NW at Pennsylvania Ave NW. But when you cross Pennsylvania there are only 2 lanes. There is no sign indicating that you need to merge right or that the left most lane is a left turn only lanes. This causes cars to drive up the median, and during rush hour traffic this can happen all the way to 17 and H st. Just yesterday, 8/6, during AM rush hour I saw a Metro Access van do just that.
