I dont understand the Issue, Is this a water level alarm? or car alarm? is it heard by neighboring homes, and is a nuisance?
Or is this a general, the alarm is too sensitive and the responders are upset because they have to go out every time?
Could you elaborate for us a bit more?
I understand the issue. I would have the alarm removed entirely and forget about it. Or, have the pump upgraded to a larger model, tear up all the sewer pipes again to increase their number and size, and hire more guys to watch it. This can be paid for by the assessor doing annual field audits for misclassified and under assessed properties throughout the municipality is and making sure that the assessors for the entire county are doing the same through the county's assessor office.
Well, if its a problem with too much water in the system, there appears to be a few ways to handle it.
1. Upgrade the system.
2. Reduce the amount of water by analyzing local adjacent Sites and find out if there is an amount of water being improperly loaded onto the system. And remedy these situations by having residents and businesses maintain the water mitigation on their own sites to reduce the flow into the system.
3. Decrease the sensitivity (increase the water level) that the alarm is sounded. Doing so at risk of flooding local areas.
Has the alarm and the consequential dispatch of town personnel led to less flooding in the area? and is this alarm something to let local residents know that they should contact the sewer department? if so, this nuisance could be eliminated with simple technology which alerts town personnel instead of an audible warning. BUT if that communication system fails, the alarm is the best next option for someone to be alerted. It may be a situation of be careful what you ask for if they disable the audible alarm. It may leave a loophole open for possible flooding? I could be completely wrong, and would like the opinion of Sewer Expert on Board to help figure this out.
