Description
Intersection of Abeel St & Bridge: there is no period of 4 way traffic having the light red, yellow light is short and the instant it's red, the other direction turns green. I travel this route daily and I always pause after my light is green and wait a few seconds to make sure there is no traffic trying to "make the light" coming off the bridge (it's blind). This is very dangerous and the length of all traffic having both the yellow & red lights should be at longer.

I completely agree. I travel this route everyday, and I always wait to a count of 10 before I cross. Too often, I'm glad that I did, because too often cars coming off the bridge trying to make the light cross in front of me. No way to see them, no way for them to see me.
Recently, if I had gone when my light turned green, I would have collided with a person on a bike coming off the bridge trying to make the light. Even though I had the right-of-way...SCARY.
My brother visited and didn't know to pause at the green, and almost collided 2 times with different cars coming off the bridge trying to make the light. It is dangerous, and it seems the fix is rather simple: as the original poster says, making "the length of all traffic having both the yellow & red lights ... longer".
