The speeding down Grove St is getting out of hand. This is on the "short" end of the street. There are a lot of children who live on this street and people fly up and down the road even when the kids are visible. My 6 year old and I nearly got hit 3 days ago when someone took the corner (from Stillwater turning right onto Grove) too tight and drove up onto the sidewalk. He missed us by about 7 feet. The speed limit is 25 and it's very rare when people actually go the speed limit. Usually people are going at least 40. Something needs to be done before a horrible accident happens!!!

Bob, I would quicker guess that someone was texting on the phone than speeding. Running up on the sidewalk is indicative of, at least, inattentiveness, and at worst, incompetence!
Tara, A 25 mile per hour speed limit is the norm in residential areas, and is the speed limit in any residential area by default (if there are no signs posted). People should not be exceeding any speed limits, but enforcing that is like keeping the horses from going back into a burning barn! We have a bad driving problem in the entire country, not just on Grove Street.
People go over the speed limits
Some people drive way under the speed limits for no apparent reason (If they were being tested, they would flunk for driving too slowly!)
They don't signal
They run red lights
They don't yield the right of way when they're supposed to
They don't even know proper lane discipline (keep to the right, except to pass or turn left), let alone follow it!
They don't yield to pedestrians in crosswalks
And, this past week has proven that they don't even have sense enough to yield to trains!
We don't require drivers' education for anyone over 18 in this state, and I think that is half the problem.
