No trash cans have been added. Litter gets picked up by parks and walkers and more is thrown out of daily.

Let's think about this. I run past this area all the time and wonder what kind people are doing this. Is it cultural? Are they trying to recreate the appearance of where they live? Have we as a society taught people that someone else will clean up after them? If their children are in the car to witness leaving or throwing the trash there, what are they being taught? How do we break this cycle? One solution is to have a tax on all take out food and beverage containers. Some may argue that people cannot afford the tax but I would hazard a guess that most of these folks pay more for cable each month than I do. Time to teach responsibility for one's actions - otherwise we've succeeded I creating a dependent mindset that is unsustainable.

Several departments have joined with community for clean ups along this area since issue was reported. Inside the Park area, Friends of Edgewood Park have really focused on park issues.Community and city response is needed. We will take a look at adding cans as well. Thanks.
