I definitely would be interested! Harbor freight sells plastic reacher thingies for about $2 that you can use to pick up garbage. That, a 5 gallon bucket, and some trash bags, and you're set. I do it all the time on Edgewood Ave near the Troupe School. We should definitely have an organized effort!

Me too, especially on Lynwood. We coud put up flyers. My house has trash pickup tools we could use.

Perhaps we could start with a Dwight-wide trash cleanup? Edgewood, Chapel, and Elm, from Sherman down to Park?

LCI has spoken with the management company for 22 & 26 Lynwood Pl on 4/10/13 at 11:37a.m. regarding loose trash that continues to be in front of the two properties. They stated a crew will be sent over to cleanup both properties. At 350 Elm Street (They have a dumpster located on Lynwood St. side) I spoke with the Director of property management on 4/11/13 at 11:53 a.m. regarding the loose garbage on the sidewalk and it was cleaned up on 4/11/13. As for 33 Lynwood Pl I've tried calling the contact person but no luck there so I will post a notice again regarding the loose garbage. LCI will monitor these three properties.

To date, LCI has contacted the landlord(s) on several occassions regarding their property in this area and it has gotten cleaned up time and time again, but then it's trashed all over again. It would be really good if a meet and greet clean up could happen on the block twice a year (Summer & Fall) and serve some refreshments i.e. donuts, fruit, and water before the meet & greet clean-up takes place. This would allow for the students who are renting (during the summer and fall months) to get to know the homeowners in the area and what's expected because we want New Haven to be a beautiful place to live. Lets get the clean-up started :-)
