It used to be a lovely pocket park. What is the plan here? I agree. It looks awful.

I believe the plan is to keep out the homeless and skateboarders.

Oh, sorry I misread the map. I thought you were talking about the pocket park on Orange and Chapel. What happened to the building that used to be on the corner? And why is THAT fenced off?

At orange and chapel the building fell down do to neglect. It going to be developed by north side development in the next year or so. It's fenced off to keep people off of the private property. The park was a big problem in terms of drug dealing, public urination, homelessness, and public intoxication.

The Knights of Columbus own this space which they acquired in 2008. Not sure why its fenced off. The Park was replaced with the designation of Temple Plaza as a Park.

it looks horrible and is a depressing first impression of the city for people coming in via 34 -- Knights of Columbus should be encouraged to spruce it up, especially given that it negatively impacts the appearance of their signature building.
