Description
There is a bus stop in front of Prime Time Sports Bar on Washington Avenue in Carlstadt, NJ. The bus stop is IDEAL. The crossing is not. I am requesting a flashing LED enhanced pedestrian lined crosswalk. This crosswalk would help the huge population of warehouse workers who are employed by numerous companies in the area. We need a safe walking environment. It is very dark (we commute in the morning hours before daybreak), scary and dangerous. And while I am grateful to the many motorists (vehicle volume is high in this area) who stop and allow us to pass, there are also those who speed up when they see pedestrians trying to walk, run, stop, stand; waiting for cars and/or TRUCKS pass before reaching the other side of the road.
Can a traffic engineer look into to this immediately before a fatality occurs?
