I'd like to know the legality of all of these signs all over New Haven advertising everything you can imagine. They are ugly, corrugated plastic things in garish colors, stapled to trees, telephone poles, etc. They look terrible.

They are not permitted!

We continue to pull down signs everyday as we travel around the City.

OK, well, if you give me permission, I will remove them as well. If you'd like that to be your job exclusively, fine, I'm just trying to keep my city looking nice and clean, and help you out. Let me know. Otherwise, I can always email/contact you as I see them so you can remove them.

WVRA's Clean Team from Chapel Haven regularly removes these flyers during their weekly rounds as well. Agreed they are a nuisance and eyesore and it is an endless task. Is it possible for the guy to be fined for this or does he have to be caught in the act of posting?

Theoretically.

It is public space violation to post these signs.

We typically call and tell peole they must be removed within 24 hours.

I see a lot of residents pull these down
