The laundry mat "Laundry Land" directly behind my apartment whose address is 269 Eckford St, does not filter their dust from their machines. The dust is out of control- it has filled up the back yard so that nothing will grow anymore from the soil and since it is being spread everywhere, whenever it rains, the water collects the chemicals from the soaps and drier sheets and drains them into the earth. My land lord and I continue to report this issue to the city and they have not done anything!!! Please help! We don't want to be drinking chemically infused water and want our yard growth back!

This past summer we were able to get some vines and a rose bush to grow around the fence in our back yard to help block the dust, lint and unfiltered air. I learned that the city came about 6 years ago and ordered the laundry business to cover their vents so the air would not be polluted but as soon as the vents needed replacement, the business removed the filters completely. In the past year or so there is a new owner of the company and the owner of the building has urged us to sew him (her tenant) because of the unhealthy conditions they are causing. She refused to take any responsibility for her tenant.
About a week ago, the owner of the building came into our back yard and cut down all of the vines and roses that were protecting us this summer. First of all this is trespassing, secondly they cut the 9 foot tall bushes at the base of the plant so that they won’t grow back. When my landlord asked the owner of the building why she did such as thing the owner said the plants were affecting her drains, then she changed her story and said that the wall where the vines grew (which has existed for 15 years now) was blocking her tenants light, she continued to try to cover her self by saying “l thought you didn’t live here any more”.
The only good thing that has come of this is that now since the plants are gone, it’s easier to see the screen full of lint and I have new photos of the condition which has gotten worse.
