Hi Jim, I remember well. I just thought it important to bring this issue up again. As I live downtown now and walk by this almost every day, I can't seriously keep doing it without finding a way to fix it. In my new apartment complex, I was even told in our stairwell, the one I use on my side of the building, had a homeless person hanging out at the very bottom at one point. They got him/her out of there, but since the entrance is public, there's nothing stopping them from doing it again before they are cleared out. I see them hang out around the creek, sleeping behind Pet Food Express, and again, while I know there's no perfect solution to this, I find it reprehensible that it is somehow accepted. Leaving Trader Joe's I saw two young girls walking down California in the evening...how can we seriously expect our downtown area to be safe and clean when this kind of vagrancy and mess is allowed? There has to be something we can do beyond putting it here (if it won't ultimately fix the problem) in order to get the city to take it more seriously.

Hi Michael. First a question. Do live at the new Agora Apartments? As far a doing something, my wife and I have been in touch with city councilman Justin Wedel. In an e-mail, he agreed to meet us at the property and discuss what may be done to alleviate this problem. So far he has not set a time or date. I will be pressing him to meet as soon as possible. With the elections upcoming, he is probably too busy campaigning for his seat. If i can get him to commit, I'll let you know and perhaps you can join us. I agree that this is a tough problem to solve, but if we keep bugging the city via this app and also continue to pressure the city council to enforce the ordinance against littering and of course calling WCPD when we see them camping in our doorways.

I understand your frustration with this issue. Code Enforcement Officer Tom Nichols has been working directly with the property owner to get this property cleaned up and secured. When he returns to the office, I'll ask him to provide an update. In any case, SeeCLickFix is a reporting toll that is not monitored 24/7. If you feel something is dangerous or there are people hanging out where they shouldn't be, please contact the PD at the non-emergency number - 935-6400.

Checked again this morning and no homeless on site but some debris and three shopping carts. Will have property manager clean it up.

Property manager contacted. Will clean it up and thinking of a chain link fence since will need one for construction.

Funny. Last night, 09:30pm the patio on Bothello was occupied. Also I am not sure who will remove the cart that is down the slope at the Main St. bridge. I do hope that fencing of the building will stop some of the littering of the property.

Property checked again this morning. No transients present. Two carts still there. I notified the cart removal service to remove them.

I want to pinpoint another location where the same issue is getting out of control. I's right behind the Petco store on California Blvd. I'm not sire what businesses where there in these old buildings before, but right now the whole site is grossed up by homeless and their numerous belongings. They are spreading around the city every morning from that area in different directions. It' especially concerning as it's walking distance to two elementary school - we can only hope they are not using their bathrooms/benches/play area during the night, when no one can see them.

This issue will not be resolved if only viewed one location at a time, as they'll relocate some place else, but still be there spreading and multiplying.

Any new cases need to be opened at the location it is happening. Thanks
