These small trees were grown at home by a park friend who gifted them to Edgewood Park and carefully planted them near the Bikeway Poles and walking trail on Edgewood Ave near West Park Ave.

The person reporting things in the park needs to better master the mapping and location portion of this app. The address is not 7 West Park. It is deceptive to say that it is, when it is not.

The City really needs to invest in cameras by the Park(s). There is no security. The benches along Edgewood are occupied by adults drinking alcohol and smoking pot in the open. The park is trashed every weekend, and there are always complaints of bulk trash dumped along Edgewood Ave and Chapel Street. We need to provide security cameras and then begin to arrest and seriously fine the offenders.

I just saw one on Edgewood Ave the other day. My bet is, they were stolen by unscrupulous landscapers who also use the park as their dumping ground for leaves and clippings. Free stock - can't beat that, if you have the mind of a thief!

I know that there has been some talk about setting up some cameras in various parks like East Rock, Edgewood regarding illegal dumping so depending on where they're placed they may be able to catch some things like this.

Nadine, I don't think cameras are the answer to most issues in the parks - perhaps with buildings like Coogan they would be helpful.

Hmmm interesting Stephanie; there seemed to be real interest in this at some other management team meetings I've gone to, but who knows...
