The State should have put a board in the gap when it was created to make for safe passage for all. It should re-pave immediately.

The delay in paving is inexcusable and is causing damage to our cars. Something needs to be done SOON!

We were originally told that paving would quickly follow milling. Now the Q Bridge folks tell us that the paving truck is still up on the bridge and won't be getting to the paving until sometime around mid (I think that's what they said) September with a completion date of the end of September. By that time our cars will all need new front ends, shocks, and tires while cars play pinball on the road (scary!), somebody will probably fall, someone else will get hurt by flying manhole covers (one already flew off when hit but thankfully didn't hit any pedestrians), etc. I'd suggest having those Q Bridge folks who so casually mentioned the delay come down and drive the roads around here all day long and get an idea what it is really like. the roads need to be PAVED NOW- find a way- find the money and do it NOW. Inexcusable is a mild term for the arrogance that is shown in the handling of this situation.

I am glad others are noticing these problems too. Should we try contacting Alder Greenberg or is he aware of the complaints? It's been at least 2 or 3 weeks since they did the milling and I am worried about the condition of my car too. Plus the lack of safety in drivers having to go around the hole covers. Be careful too when driving on to the opening of Olive St. from that bridge connecting it to State. There is a large sharp object protruding from the street near the right sidewalk. Someone is going to get a flat if they haven't already.

Our Alder is well aware of the problem and the complaints and is trying to get forward movement on the issue. But that does not guarantee anything will be done or how quickly it will be done if it does get accelerated. Let's continue to get comments on this issue and if we hear nothing from Aaron about a definite and quick plan of action by mid-week, perhaps we could take a more aggressive, active stand.

We need a firm date NOW.
And if that date could be up to a month out, that's purely insane.
I've never seen a road left milled this long before repaving. And it could remain this way for even more weeks?
It's very bad for cars, but absolute hell on a bike. This is a bike/walk heavy neighborhood. Marked crosswalks are gone, right in the prime summer season when people are walking from downtown to Wooster Square Park & Wooster St Restaurants. Farmer's market too.
Slap in the face to the walking/biking community, and Wooster Square residents & businesses. Not a good look, basically contrary to everything we supposedly want to promote here.

CALL (203) 752-1996. Please everyone, call the I-95 Public Information Office and express your concerns and dissatisfaction with the way in which the street paving is being handled. Chances are they don't monitor seeclickfix and don't know how angry we are. DO IT NOW- DO IT OFTEN and tell your friends and neighbors to do the same. Was told that there was a meeting in progress about this situation right at the time of my call.
Definitely agree, more people need to call. I hope that city representatives are also calling their contacts in state gov't (higher up than we can) on behalf of the neighborhood residents.

Just got this email update.

The schedule posted by NHVCyclist is the schedule we received as well today from CT DOT. We have been pushing CT DOT for this update for quite some time, and will be following up with them to ensure that they stick to this schedule. The City was initially informed that the gap between milling and paving would be one week. At the end of the day the paved roads will be a significant benefit (and savings to the City budget).
