This section of Newark Ave is a Pedestrian Plaza. A ramp is not necessary at the location.

I don't agree. What happens if someone in wheelchair is using the sidewalk and runs up against this obstruction. Are you really saying that the person needs to go back to the corner to use the ramp, go all the way down the street to the other corner to use that ramp and then backtrack to their destination. Is this really up to code?

I agree with Stephen. So much money is spent installing wheelchair ramps and lower height crossing assistance devices around the city. When there is construction or development, the contractors should be following the same accessibility rules.

Am I correct that Waseem-RRC, a city official apparently assigned to enforcement, actually needed to be told that this is a code violation?

I don't think that this is 150 Newark Avenue. Fussy Friends is 148 Newark Ave, and this is across the street from there, where Hard Grove Cafe was going to be, no? 150 Newark would be the Tae Kwon Do place, I think.

They moved the wall back from the curb but it does no good because a lamp post blocks any wheelchair that would need access. Amazing.

Stephen, it is a step in the right direction. It shows the city is trying for us, the citizens. @Construction Code Official - would it be possible to simply ask for two temporary ramps around the blockage?

Why are the gates still there? They serve no purpose, especially if construction is contained within the erected walls already.
