This car was being driven by a Jersey City police officer. He was getting ice cream at Torico's at 11PM last night, Friday the 11th. The area was bedlam with people running stop signs, parking illegally at red curbs and in front of fire hydrants, speeding, throwing litter in the streets, drunkenly shouting and typical annoying Friday night behavior, but he decided that parking like this to get ice cream was okay.

Well, armegeddon is upon us. Last evening I stepped out onto my stoop merely to get some air. It was maybe 8 or 9. A man was facing the wall against 232 First and urinating. It was still light out. He wasn't a homeless person. He was in a trendy beanie, with expensive jeans and shoes and a nice shirt. I angrily told him I didn't appreciate my block being used as a urinal and he told me he was embarrassed...as he continued to urinate.

The issues downtown in terms of quality of life are becoming outrageous. This is a young, affluent man on a Tuesday evening, peeing on the street because he can't be bothered to find a bathroom. This is simply beyond what I think is reasonable to deal with.
