PWA Call Center, Thanks for notifying and coordinating the correct city departments.
David Coleman, Thanks for the additional resource.
Graham, Thanks for the addendum.
A year ago we would not have seen this comment from public works. This is the public training them to work better. This is one example of human waste being dumped on the street. H.U.D reports and others put the number people living on Oakland streets at around 6000. That is a lot of people without toilets and treatable water to bath in. All of what they do ends up in the bay. They also produce large amounts trash and litter.
I have called the OPD, parking enforcement, abandoned auto unit, and drug hotline to report the three trailers operating illegal business on the street and the trailers are all still here littering the streets with garbage and sewage. Does no one care?
Is the sewage still leaking?
The City of Oakland does use an outside contractor for the biohazard clean up. I was curious as to how can you clean up the sewage if the vehicle doesn't first move?
When you made your report, did you ask for the assigned event/report number?
Per OPD closed call logs, the police were at this corner 8/01, 3:36pm (drug dealing), 8/10 at 2:10pm (Oakland Municipal Co), and 8/10 at 3:18pm (Hazardous Situation).
[Correction: In my earlier comment, I meant to write: How can one clean up the sewage on the street if there is large vehicle in the way? Simple street cleaning is often hindered by the RVs ensconced in their spot.]
Suggestion: When you call the non-emergency number (510-777-3333) to report a problem, ask the dispatcher for the "incident number" and keep a log of the incidents, including the date and time. The incident numbers are not the same as police reports.
David, why are you making things up and spreading FUD?
"All of what they do ends up in the bay."
This is not true at all. I live in my van, and all of my 'waste' goes into the toilet. I use the toilet at work and at the gym. Sometimes I also might go to the library, park bathroom, grocery store, fast food places, or gas station. There are lots of places for homeless people to go to the bathroom.
Every van dweller I know does the same thing. All the RV people I know also do this, or use a proper dumping station. They pay money to dump their waste legally and safely.
We all have anecdotes, but is there any data on percentage of RV people who dump in the street?
Why stoop to scare mongering and lies and act like its all of us, when it clearly isn't?
You should have stopped at "This is one example of human waste being dumped on the street", because that at least is the truth.
Metal, what do you think about the idea of going after the drug dealing angle directly? I mean, reporting this to the department of OPD that deals with drug dealers (as opposed to illegal dumping)? If you live near here and could safely, discreetly record the drug transactions I wager the police would be a lot more responsive.

All those vehicles are still there! Trash and human waste building up. People driving up and buying drugs.
The City of Oakland is ignoring this one.

Perhaps SCF is not the best way to solve this problem.
Let's try contacting the Community Resource Officer for Area 4, 26x.
(BTW, Per OPD closed call log, the police responded on 8/01/16 at 3:36pm to drug dealing at this location.)
