The items have NOT been picked up. The sofas are OVER the fence on park land. Someone needs to clean this up. While you are at it, there is A LOT of trash OVER the picket fence behind #1674 Chapel Street.

Public Works: you said the items were picked up. That is not true. The items are still there. Will you, or will you not, take care of this problem?

Sorry I was wrong about the location. Items we picked up were on street near the location. Our jurisdiction includes "public space"--streets, tree belts and sidewalk areas. If on private property, LCI will respond and Parks will respond if on park land.

I made a special stop to see if the trash was removed and it was not. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on this. I WILL EXPLAIN AGAIN for those whose reading comprehension is sub-par: on the park-side of Ella Grasso Blvd and Irving there is a dumping ground (sofa, tv, mattress general trash). The items are over the fence onto park land. THE GARBAGE IS STILL THERE. LCI, please do not waste my time and tell me the items were removed when they weren't.

THE DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS SAID PARKS WOULD RESPOND IF IT WAS ON PARK LAND. ITEMS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ON PARK LAND, EVEN WHEN I WALKED PARK EMPLOYEES TO THE SPOT AND POINTED TO THE GARBAGE. THEY SAW WITH THEIR OWN EYES THE GARBAGE AND ADMITTED IT IS ON PARK LAND.

I DON'T CARE WHO REMOVES IT. BUT NO ONE SHOULD ACCEPT THAT TRASH POLLUTES OUR WETLANDS AND PARKS. IT IS A PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE - WILL YOU WAIT UNTIL THE EAGLES DIE AND PEOPLE GET SICK TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?

This issue has now been assigned to the appropriate LCI Neighborhood Specialist, Westville. There is trash dumped over the fence along Ella T Grasso Blvd., as well as mass amounts of bulk trash in the park behind the homes along Chapel Street as well. You can see both from the intersection of Ella T Grasso and Irving which is where this specific issue was logged in as. I have personally reached out to the home owners on 3/7/17 and have heard back from 1 so far. I am waiting to hear from the others and once I do, we will need to coordinate entering their property to clean up the dumping that has entered the park. Hi Jane, Parks and LCI visited the dump site together to see if it's feasible to use our equipment to remove the trash from the park up the slope and are now pending hold harmless agreements with the residents so we can access their property. Thank you.
