mcculloughismyhome, sure it is not a big thing, but once one house starts doing this other neighbors do the same thing and our streets start looking like service alleys. Also it is no big deal for residents to put these away for the week (or two in the case of recycling bins).

Thanks you for helping notify folks of their responsibilities. As BDBaer above noted it was beginning to look like a service alley b/c others were copying. And now that everyone has a phone with some kind of alarm built in people don't have to worry about forgetting to bring out the trash on their appointed day.

Alarm phones are a technique and they can be a solution. Also, they can work for some residents. Is someone saying the trash system in force here has an app?

I just set a once-every-two week event on my calendar to remember which week is recycling but there does seem to be an actual app:
