As a homeowner at the Mill, I can assure people that it is not low income housing. (Our condo fees are among the highest in the region!) I agree with the initial poster that it's unfair and too bad that someone on high, and I assume within the Warrenton Mill organization, has positioned the condo community in such an unflattering light in the YellowPages and on Facebook. I hope we can get to the bottom of this and get these inaccurate public references to "low income housing" removed -- and swiftly so. The Mill is actually a great place to live -- especially since Tent City was disbanded and moved from the woods behind our property. The architecture at the Mill is gorgeous, and there's something about living in a historically-significant structure that is just plain, well, cool. My neighbors are educated, interesting and interested, and I have noticed people are starting to reach out to each other more and make the Warrenton Mill more of a true community. It's a great place for artists and other creative types to purchase a home. Even New Yorkers who want a Litchfield County "crash pad" where they can land on holidays and weekends -- without investing in a house and all of the upkeep that goes with that -- are starting to call the Mill "home." So, no, we're certainly not a public housing project. I'm sure there are some residents who are subsidized, but there is no need for those in charge of managing the mill to blatantly position the community as low income. Wow. I hope we can get to the bottom of this and resolve it quickly.
