Feb 9th 2016 and WTNH just did a story on this as it still hasn't been replaced?

Unfortunately this has proved exceptionally difficult. The flag could not be lowered on the pole to be replaced, it is actually tangled in the top fixture. Unfortunately the pole is too high to be reached by our tree truck and the fire ladder truck has to secure outside the fountain increasing the distance so it is also can not reach. We have had difficulties securing a vendor who has the necessary equipment (with a bucket on the end of the crane) and can provide the necessary insurance. Now if we could just get a day without high wind or snow the task will be completed.

The work is now scheduled to be completed tomorrow morning.
