Those cones have been moved since Monday whomever done it. Anyways, the fence was blocking the walk-through containers yesterday, pedestrians have been walking up and down the coned off area that was parking.

We are very confused about this issue. Can someone please give us a call at 919-996-3050 and ask to speak with Council Member Kay Crowder's Policy Analyst.

CONFUSED? The parking spaces have been painted black and the payment machine covered in plastic. Obviously Councilwoman Crowder should know what is going on in her own district. If not, that's a HUGE problem.

Why would the Councilwoman know about every temporary parking change in her district? This is not an issue. This is how the parking department set it up. Unless you saw the manager at the coffee shop move them why accuse him directly? There are several businesses right there. Also if cars park in this area they will be cited.

I don't care if the council member knows or not, the fact is that the parking spaces have been painted black and comes put up, and people are tossing them on the sidewalk to park. What's going on? Why are there no warning signs? The walk through containers are blocked off with "sidewalk closed" orange and white barriers. This is an unsafe confusing situation. You can look at the picture and see the parking stripes have been painted black. Since the sidewalk has been barricaded, are people supposed to be walking in the coned off areas on the street? And since these cones are in place, the markers and space numbers painted black, and the meter machine covered in plastic, people are not getting ticketed? This is a confusing and dangerous situation for pedestrians.

When was the tunnel closed? I've only seen it closed temporarily while they transfer items from the street using the crane. This is most definitely the temporary bus lane.

I have been told that:

(1) The closed off parking area (meter station covered in plastic, parking lines painted black) is to be used as needed by the company doing the construction.

(2) That company is paying the city for the use of that parking area.

To verify that, I suppose one would have to contact the part of city government that manages street parking in the area.

It could also be determined whether the closed off parking area is also a temporary bus lane when not being used by the construction company.

Some appropriate signage in the area could help reduce confusion.
