Making a right turn from 2818 onto Nueces is a hazard because so many folks cross the solid white line and use the bike lane for a turn lane. It is dangerous to make a legal turn when folks drive up beside you to make the same right turn. Can there be a sign placed that tells folks not to turn from the bike lane?

Thank you for this information. 2818 is a TXDOT road way and is maintained by them. I will send this information to the City Traffic Engineer so that he can coordinate with TXDOT concerning this issue to see what can be done about it. I will report his findings here.

It is completely legal to drive on an improved shoulder in Texas, the only difference (that I am aware of) is that you cannot overtake (aka- "pass") another vehicle while traveling in the shoulder.
I do hope the school zone wasn't active while you were taking photos and driving though.
Just remember to drive friendly, the Texas way.
