The irrigation system in that area of the field was designed to provide water to the grass adjacent to the field itself. As currently designed, it shoots some of the water beyond the grass area. This irrigation system runs on a well onsite, therefore no water is being "wasted" as such, as the water returns to the groundwater from where it came. Nevertheless, we will look at other options to avoid spraying water beyond the grass area.

I will have our irrigation person check it out to see if we can either adjust the sprinkler head or change it out to minimize the amount of water overshooting the actual turf area

DPW staff examined the sprinkler situation and has determined that aside from a expensive reconstruction, the system cannot be altered. There is water being sprayed into the woods, but it is okay since there is grass between the sprinkler head and the woods. The irrigation comes from a well with ample supply.
