I just witnessed a car with Florida license plates completely BLOW THROUGH the 4-way stop sign at Jett Ferry & Dunwoody Club Drive. He was on Dunwoody Club Drive headed west. I had just approached the intersection on Jett Ferry headed north. Had I gotten there 10-20 seconds earlier, it is quite possible the car would have hit me on the passenger side; with my wife sitting there.

Are there any plans on improving the safety of this intersection? (We don’t need a traffic light. That will simply cause more traffic to be backed up during non-rush hour times.)

We regularly have collisions at this intersection. My wife & I regularly walk across this intersection going to the shops. Even with the crosswalk painted white lines, it still does not feel safe & inviting for a person to be there & walk across the intersection on foot.

Here are some suggestions:

• Very quickly & cheaply, paint on the pavement well-in-advance of the intersection in all directions: “Stop Ahead”
• Add “Stop Ahead” signs
• Get a flashing red light installed – Just like there is at Dunwoody Club Drive & Ball Mill
• Install a splitter island installed on Dunwoody Club drive on the east side of the intersection where there are pedestrians which cross
• Rumble strips ahead of the intersection
• Raised Pedestrian Crossings
• Slowing the speed limit down from 35 to 25 mph:
a) On Jet Ferry from Mt. Vernon to Dunwoody Club Drive. This is a pedestrian-intense segment with an unsafe number of curbcuts that would have never been approved today (ask Sandy Springs to continue it to several hundred feet prior to the intersection)
b) On Dunwoody Club Drive starting from Mt Vernon (to the east) to several hundred feet west of the intersection
• Install mid-block pedestrian crossing islands (act as traffic calming. “Inform” motor vehicle drivers there are persons on foot in this area.)
a) Jett Ferry halfway between Mt. Vernon & Dunwoody Club
b) Dunwoody Club halfway between Jett Ferry & Mt. Vernon

I live right by this 4 way stop and it is a harrowing place to be. Teenagers have no idea what to do and frequently two will go at a time, one right behind the other. We do so much need for this to be a priority!

I personally would like to see a traffic light. It can be flashing red during non- busy hours. The light would allow more consistent flow during peak hours. The congestion is bad and unsafe.

The intersection is on the city limit line for Dunwoody and Sandy Springs. The two cities are working together to implement an improvement.

This is critical! Please - let's get our cities in sync and get this fixed. This is NOT the time to step back and wait for someone else to take the initiative.

This intersection is increasingly getting worse. Stop signs are no longer working as they slow traffic down and are causing longer and longer backups. Backups are so bad it is often impossible to exit from McDonalds or Chikfila onto Jett Ferry.

I reported this issue not once, but twice last year. City of Dunwoody and City of Sandy Springs - HERE IS YOUR WAKEUP CALL. When someone is killed at this intersection, don't make excuses that you weren't warned. Get together and FIX THIS.

Thank you for your concern for this intersection. While we welcome feedback on issues of concern to the community, SeeClickFix is primarily intended to address immediate maintenance issues and repairs. To address the requests discussed above requires a major capital investment that has to be planned, designed and funded. In the coming months Sandy Springs will begin design and work with Dunwoody to identify the best way to upgrade the intersection to address traffic flow and safety.

Please please look at this 4 way (Dunwoody Club and Jett Ferry) and the 4 way at Jett Ferry and Spalding. I feel as though I have to approach both of these intersections with one hand on the car horn. I see folks blow through the Spalding intersection everyday. Thanks!

City of Dunwoody, you acknowledged on 2015-09-10 that this was currently being looked into by the Public Work Inspector and updates would come "shortly". It's been almost 2 years! For my daughter, a new driver, this intersection is terrifying to her, as she witnesses drivers at their worst. We regularly see people ignore the stop signs. It's Russian roulette with a car. A roundabout would be a good solution here, with a flasher for walkers.

Short term, the stop signs need to be equal distant from each other. Right now the Jett Ferry stop from Mt Vernon is too far back so people can't easily detect who arrives at the intersection first. Long term, clearly a round about is the solution. Added suggestion, people need to read up on the rules as to who goes first when you arrive at the intersection first (person on your right). Also, placing a monitored camera at the intersection will deter law breakers from running the stop sign.

A roundabout is one of the options being considered. The stop sign on Jett Ferry cannot be moved any closer to the intersection. The stop sign needs to be at the white stop bar on the pavement and the stop bar has to be set back from the crosswalk.
