Thank you for your attention to this. It did happen to rain that evening and it appears we'll get some rain tonight. It just seemed odd that on 7/10 there was that much water and it had not rained in Sandy Springs since 7/4.

On the morning of 7/15 the pond looked as it does in the attached after Tuesday night's rain. The water level was WAY high. The gate was unsecured and left open which I assume is a safety hazard especially given the amount of water that was in the pond. Thanks again for your assistance in rectifying this problem.

It appears work was done to this facility to allow for the water to drain. However, there is now an area that has been dug out and created a large depression within which water will stand and can never reach the drain. This will serve to breed mosquitoes.
Please ask the developer to remove the silt/mud from the facility rather than just push it around to make the water drain. Unless it is removed how can it not end up clogging the valve again? This pond will never function properly unless properly maintained.

Please contact the City's Response Center at 770-730-5600. Ask for the Public Works Department. We need more information regarding the location to continue our investigation.
