We have installed a new traffic adaptive software system on Seminole Boulevard.

You may notice that the signal does not operate in the same patterns as you are used to seeing. This does not mean that the signal is malfunctioning. When the system is fully functional, the traffic signal phases will be serviced according to demand and will work within the programmed parameters we have set.. You may even see traffic phases that have higher demand being serviced twice within a cycle.

We have been working to transition all of the traffic signals from Lark Lane to 54th Avenue N. as quickly as possible. We are monitoring these intersections and are making adjustments as needed. We thank you for your comments and patience during this transition.

Thank you for your quick response, but this system certainly is not an effective one. Traffic moves more slowly and sits longer than ever before here. "New" is not always 'better'.

I guess I will just change the way I go to work if this is going to stay the way it is now. I may try going down 102nd Avenue rather than Park Blvd even though it's a bit out of the way, it will surely be faster. Thanks anyway.

My hope is that when we are finished, you will choose to use this route again and the commute will be better for you. My intention was to explain that it is a process. We are striving to make the commute better and are making every effort to achieve that goal.

I'm sorry I do not have a completion date because we are still working with our consultant and field technicians to fine tune the detection devices.

We have asked that a minimum time be installed for the southbound left turn movement until such time as the system can recognize the demand.
