Dogs at 92nd Street trampling on turtle nest. Every morning between 6 and 6:30 a few people walk their dogs unleashed and on the beach, a violation of three Surfside ordinances.
The Surfside Police Department Patrol Unit initiated on-going checks of the Beach and surrounding area on each patrol shift for all Ordinance violations and violations of Law. Persons found to be in violation of the Dogs on the Beach Ordinance are informed of the Ordinance, and warned that future violations will result in a Citation. If repeat violations occur the owner of the dog is issued a citation.
If violations are observed by the community please call the non-emergency Surfside Police Department phone number 305-861-4862, immediately so a police officer or Community Service Aide can be dispatched and appropriately handle the potential violation.
