Frankly, a sidewalk should also be put in with the fence next to it. I really want the parks department to comment on if this can be done.

A fence is a great idea. There should be an opening only opened by those who clean and mow the lawn. Reminder.....please send someone to cut the grass by the sidewalks at ends. it looks awful. please make sure the trash is being removed daily. I know there are people looking for work and would do their best to keep this area clear. Parks.....what happen?

He will respond to emails and calls. If you report a known ATV or dirt bike location to him, he will investigate and confiscate the machines.

Thanks for your comment. The Transportation, Traffic and Parking Department and Engineering Department are designing a new protected bike lane that will hug each side of the Edgewood Mall. The design will create the buffer between vehicles and the grass. This solution will be much more cost effective, will help to slow vehicles in the travel lanes and will help to encourage more bicycling in the city. Look for more details on the design this fall with a spring construction.

Thank you, Rebecca. I am still seeing people parking on the north side of the Edgewood Mall between Winthrop and Norton Street, especially on weekends. Can you help coordinate with traffic enforcement to have them patrol the area on weekends at least?

Both TT&P and PD have been paying extra attention, especially when there are events permitted in the area. If there is a specific time of day when you think it is the worst please let us know so we can target accordingly.
