Thank you for reporting the abandoned/dangerous building in the area to the City of St. Charles. Our Community Development Department and Police Department have been notified about this property and are currently looking into the situation. We appreciate your help in improving our City!
The owner of this property has obtained funding and a permit to place this porch. It is currently being worked on and will be completed in the coming weeks.
What a mess! Does the Landmarks board get to see this photo and website? Why isn't City staff more proactive in identifying derilect properties like this one? It is embarrassing for our city to see properties in such awful condition.
On a related note, a deck-style porch does not sound architecturally appropriate. Sad.
