At the top of the ramp, N.C. 16 traffic must immediately merge two lanes left in order to stay on and follow N.C. 16. It's a traffic nightmare for drivers traveling from Waxhaw to the Newton Conover area The North Carolina Department of Transportation should consider rerouting N.C. 16 from the intersection of Providence and Queens, up Queens Road to East Morhead Street and then right on Kennelworth to get to John Belk Freeway I-277.
