Do they have to board it up? The house next door is up for sale, a boarded house next to it would make it harder to sell. It would also bring down the neighborhood.

We should have a block party to celebrate!

The house next door is a short sale. It's also not in the best condition and rented. Together not a very enticing property. 188 boarded up might prove more positive to a savey buyer who checked Click Fix and saw the comments, or went to CT.gov and saw the open litigation (related to the past occupants of 188). Short sales and foreclosures don't usually effect real estate values. An appraiser can not use them as comparable sales.

A new fence would do wonders for the house next door, and would make it more marketable.
I noticed plywood now covers the door on 188 Lexington Ave. Hopefully someone buys it soon and fixes it up.
