They ticketed me an I was parked on my own lawn.

Parking on your lawn is a violation of City Ordinance. Maybe that's why they were out there.

We were ticketed in front of our own home. It is outrageous, and it started without warning. I called sal Decola about it- call him!!! Make your voice heard!! Give him the ticket number and car number.

I argued the ticket and it was waived. no laws against me parking on my lawn.

Good for you, BUT Actually there are City Ordinances in New Haven that prohibit parking on your lawn unless there is an exception granted.

I will let my neighbor know to call Sal Decola. Thank you. But my point is, why are we subject to theses tickets. Most streets in Morris cove are little and have low traffic we should be able to park as we choose, as long as we are not obstucting traffic. Like I said I have have lived here 34 years and we were always able to park as we chose. I think if the city wants to come to this neighborhood, at least help fix our horrible roads, sidewalks and trees. Not take more money from us high paying taxpayers, and again give us NOTHING in return.

Make no mistake.. Morris Cove is the minority in New Haven !! The Cove are not the people who vote in mayors, Destefano realized this early, and he made sure he took care of the people who kept him in power, he ignored the neighborhood he was brought up in.
Harp doesn't seem like she cares about anything or anybody, not sure yet but I am sure she ,like Destefano has absolutely no interest in helping the Cove.
The police can go to any other neighborhood and watch people going thru red lights 5 seconds after it turned , all day long but they won't .. They are afraid to, cause someone might say it's profiling .. And the city wants nothing to do with that.. So they set up on Townsend and Dean streets to catch the Cove residents who roll thru a stop sigh at 2 mph.. WOW , WHAT A CRIME... BUT... people in the Cove work for a living, they will pay the ticket... So that's where money comes into it..
A ticket for wrong way parking in so ridiculous !! And again, money for the city from the worker...
We had a chance in the 80s to secede for survival ..to become part of East Haven, but it failed.
The Cove may be the best part of New Haven, not because it's so wonderfully maintained by the city, it's because of the people who live here care about it,and enjoy it .. It's home.. My dad use to say Fair Haven was like that when he was growing up.
To click it fix it, thanks for letting mr vent here.. That's about all it's good for, the city will ignore the request we make here just like the ignore the letters, the calls...That's what they are really good at...
