Pinellas County Public Works - Watershed assigned this issue to City of Clearwater

The city of Clearwater does not typically trim mangroves which are a protected species in Florida. Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concerns.

The city of Dunedin has their mangroves trimmed. Why is this different for the city of Clearwater? I was under the impression that mangroves can be trimmed to 6 feet.

There is a process that municipalities can go through to get them trimmed. Clearwater does not typically trim them for aesthetic purposes or to preserve views.
