Too bad the sign cannot remain up so that the community can be informed about a critical development in their neighborhood. Please continue to spread the word.
I made sure no driver site lines were impaired and was highly conscious of safety in its installation. I suspect the complaint was from Kroger since it is to their advantage to keep this under wraps until it is too late and a 14 pump mega gas station is a done deal.
The sign will be down tomorrow, I care about what my neighbors think unlike some of our close corporate neighbors (That was sarcasm for "Kroger") who have shown flagrant and wholesale disregard for the needs and desires of our Brookhaven community.

Go nail it on the Commercial Real Estate sign across the street. That sign must be legal since it has been there for years. They don't need to advertise the land for sale any longer since it is under contract.
That would make a nice home for the no Kroger Gas station sign.
How has Kroger shown flagrant and wholesale disregard for the needs and desires of our Brookhaven community? They purchased a piece of land that was for sale and are applying for a permit to build an allowable business. If you didnt want a business near you you should have purchased a home in a rural area.
Guess you did not attend the public meeting. There was a petition given to Kroger with over half your neighbors signed a petition against having a 14 pump mega fuel center at the entrance to our subdivision. Once a gas station, the property will always be a gas station or vacant. If you want proof just go up JF Road to Buddy's - this is a prime location which has sat vacant for years. (Not unlikely that Valero would also go out of business so JF Road in Brookhaven would be bookended by beautiful vacant properties). This is not about stopping commerce or business, this is about changing the entire complexion of the area. I could go on - this is a two lane road (the only Kroger Fueling station which is on a two lane road surface road) which is already one of the worst in Atlanta etc. I say let this property grow organically and let market forces shape this to what the community desires and not let Kroger pre-ordain this location as a Mega Fueling Station for the foreseeable future. I signed up for a urban area with the expectation that the rational growth of business would take place. A huge, one acre gas station is not rational growth. Wonton, if you like your community and the way it feels and what it is, you will agree and support our efforts to stop this mutation of our community.
I was at the meeting Brian and look forward to having a traffic light and a quality gas station. I also look forward to having a renovated Kroger. Thier are issues with the Buddy's station which you should investigate before comparing the two sites.
Also, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. There are some homes in our neighborhood that could use some basic maintence and probable should be written up on this site. Maybe if the board had followed through with the suggestion of the board minute from 2007 to plant some evergreen along Johnson Ferry this would not be such an issue. Instead We are being emotionally reactive.
Nice Mitch. Got it all in there. I am not being emotionally reactive, just being reasonable. Sorry, but 14 pumps is NOT a "quality gas station", it is an abomination, - 7 times larger than the adjoining gas station Valero which serves our communities needs conveniently and well (Not to mention the other one just down the street and the BP on the corner). For those reading this, The proposed "gas station" will cover an entire acre and be right at the entrance of the Cambridge Park sub-division. I believe it will negatively impact all our property values. The lightly veiled personal attack on my landscaping abilities is noted and appreciated. I will not stoop to a response. My opinion is that we not wreck what we have here as a neighborhood with neighborhood stores and restaurants. It is a great place to live and raise our kids that will not be so nice with the proposed mega fueling station. I understand you have a different opinion, I respect that, you are entitled, as is everyone else.

Is that the right of way?
In any event it's noncommercial speech and the content would be treated the same as political signs.
