I know there was a loving care representative visiting the hula Facebook page, has anyone written or talk to the owners themselves? Who is managing this place? If the problem has gotten this bad, we need to bring in news and media as well.

I have also seen prostitutes walking up 9th ave hanging around 7th st n and corners back towards mlk. Have called police about this issue. Hope this can be resolved soon.

Visit the HUNA Facebook page for updates because this facility has become a popular topic of conversation among the neighboring residents and homeowners nearby. The police receive hundreds of calls a year about disruptions from LC residents. Media attention to LC would be great, since it's administration is lacking to say the least.

I've called the police also, because the prostitutes are hanging out in the vacant houses in the neighborhood. I've also asked the City of St Pete and Duke Energy about fixing the many streetlights that are not working. Maybe the lights on will help a little.

I can personally attest to how well and FAST proper lighting can help a situation like this, as that was a solution I helped implement in Phoenix when having a very similar problem. If you haven't already, post a SCF report for each individual light that is out so they (and we) have a record of progress. I'm also for bringing media attention to this.

Yes, if you know someone in the media who can expose this facility for its poor treatment of residents, that would be great!! It's gone under the radar for long enough.

Good afternoon, folks - thanks for the initial post and for engaging each other about the issues at this location. We have been in contact with the City's Social Services office, and they are assisting in monitoring the area around the In Loving Care facility - they have notified both the SPPD (to be on alert for illegal activity) and the Parks Dept (to clean up, as needed) - they have also been in contact with the State of Florida's Department of Children and Families as they are the organization through which the facility is licensed. Any other attention that can be brought to these issues in an effort to resolve them would certainly be helpful.

I've personally spoke with the administrator lead of the loving care facility his name is Carlos & admin Annette as well the maintenance guy for this location. I questioned them about installing a fence as per the city plans to help controlling the roming of the residents through our neighborhood at all hours of the day & night and they just said they will look into it. I also at times spoke to staff inquiring about residents in street on 10th ave n just sitting on curb at all hours of the night and they stated there was no security on staff on weekends to assist, I've never seen any security on site which they state the have on the website. Their website also show they have available rooms for rent but this location is only licensed for private rooms. Paramedics have stressed to neighbors that they come to facility and at times cannot find any staff to assist them. Evening staff member has also stated they are extremely under staffed and they cannot give the needed care to the residents being under staffed as they are. Some of the residents are dangerous approaching homes asking for money and household items. Residents argue with eachother and no staff seen breaking up arguments. This definetly needs city attention to get involved for our community.

Update: The State of Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has received the City's complaint about the Loving Care of St Petersburg ALF. The AHCA has regulatory authority to conduct an inspection to determine if this facility is in current compliance with applicable laws, so they have opened a complaint and asked staff in their Saint Petersburg Field Office to perform an on-site inspection. They will inform the City of the results.

I have been getting a few FDLE sex offender alert emails and ones for sexual predators for my area, and the address of this place has been listed over and over for many offenders, just wondering if the owner of this facility is catering to sex offenders.

They aren't catering to them but there are a LOT of residents who are. It's settling, isn't it?

Yes its very unsettling. Last I checled 4 were listed at that facility. The staff on the weekend informed me there is no security staff member on weekends or after hours to tend to residents arguing or sitting in the back of the lot passing a smoking item that looks to be drugs. Not sure why they got away without installing a privacy fence to block some of the nuisances. Seems quieter since the residents are no longer at the end of the street hanging out with 10 others all day in the park. Hopefully they get the much needed inspection and we all keep reporting any unsafe issues.
