If you mean the drain - or sewer line - in your house, that is an issue you will have to handle on your own. What I found was that if a tree root invades your sewer line, it is because your sewer line has a leak in it: Tree roots seek water. I bought the sewer and pipe safe policies from RWA as the pipes running from the curb to my house are my responsibility. The cost of roto-rooter to clean out clogged sewer lines from tree roots is $$$ and,in my experience, not the responsibility of the city .
The sidewalk lifting from tree roots goes to Public Works. If it is a healthy tree, it might be possible to replace the sidewalk with an angle cut in it to level the walkway. If the tree is dying, there could be a conversation between DPW and parks about removal, but if it isn't dead/dying, the tree will most likely not be taken down.

Thank you for your comment.
I want to say couple of thig here.
The reason drain line backing up is due to tree route in the line.
This is on going issue. i want to get this resolve. I wish I had money like you so I can call roto rooter three times a years.
Doesnt matter if the tree is old or new It is creating issue to my property and it is belong to city. I would advise City need to take further action quickly.
Yes, The side walk lift from the tree roots. It is falling hazard to the public.
Please review and advise how should we take this further....

T, this site allows other people to help resolve issues by posting their opinions/experience. My experience with my water line that was breached by tree roots taught me that the city is not responsible for tree roots that get into the pipes coming from the curb to my house. It was an expensive lesson, and now, I have pipe safe insurance for both water and sewer.
I am sharing this experience with you so that you can perhaps obtain the insurance before you, too, find out that the city is not responsible.
Further, I suggested that you contact Public Works about the sidewalk. If the tree is dead, then DPW will contact parks ( or you can call/email them about both issues) and inspections will be made and action will follow on a priority basis.
As much as this site is an asset to promote information and define issues, I highly doubt that any department heads are sitting around waiting for issues to address when they have an entire city with downed trees, debris and other corrective measures to handle right now due to the hurricane.
