Leopold was never found. From our investigations, our best guess is that he was stollen when he briefly got away from the pet sitter. Be careful, it is not a nice world out there.
NOTE: to review traffic camera footage in New Haven, it costs over three hundred dollars hour (or maybe a 1/2 hour, I forget). The operation is run by a private company from the Hartford area. This might have helped us close this sad case, it was prohibitively expensive and seems needlessly high. In fact you can't even get a snap shot of the camera's perspective without paying for an entire hour. Business opportunity anyone?
